The Louisiana Super Plants Demonstration Garden is a raised display bed located in the heart of City Park between the entrance to Pavilion of Two Sisters and the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. This site serves as an educational platform for showcasing the Louisiana Super Plants program—an LSU AgCenter initiative that highlights superior plant selections tested for performance, adaptability, and reliability in Louisiana landscapes. Managed by trained MGGNO volunteers, the garden features seasonal rotations of designated Super Plants. Volunteers engage in hands-on horticultural practices, including planting, cultivation, and integrated garden maintenance, while educating the public on the selection criteria and horticultural value of each featured plant.
